Teijin Carbon Europe GmbH (Wuppertal, Germany) is introducing Tenax Next HTS45 E23 24K, a sustainability-focused standard modulus carbon fiber, to JEC World attendees. It features 36% lower CO₂ emissions compared to conventional fibers, while maintaining the tensile, stiffness and processing characteristics required for high-volume structural applications.
The fiber delivers tensile and stiffness levels aligned with established industry reference materials, along with improved compression and flexural performance. Full compatibility with existing composite manufacturing processes enables a true drop-in transition for industrial, marine and automotive applications.
Teijin Carbon is presenting one of the first application demonstrators made from Tenax Next towpreg. This application operates under extreme service conditions and illustrates how lower-carbon materials can be implemented in demanding structural applications without compromising performance or manufacturing robustness.
Guided by Teijin Carbon’s “Reinforcing Excellence” approach, this focus on translating material innovation into customer-ready solutions is also reflected in several collaborative projects being recognized at the JEC Composites Innovation Awards 2026. Joint developments such as LeiWaCo, awarded in the “Pipes, Tanks & Hydrogen” category, and SAUBER4.0, awarded in the “Aerospace – Process” category, illustrate how industrial partners, research institutions and material suppliers are working together to bring sustainable composite technologies from concept to real-world implementation.
